HINDI JOURNEY

Honestly, I joined Hindi class just to brag about knowing it. I was watching this show called BAALVEER. It used to be dubbed in tamil and was telecasted in Chutti TV. But I couldn’t watch it on time so I had to watch it on youtube. I couldn’t find Tamil dub in Youtube so I had to manage with Hindi audio. And the first word I learnt from that show was bevakuf, which meant a fool. I couldn’t pronounce that either. I also used to go to a music class. My two friends from that class recommended me a Hindi class which they were attending. They said that the teacher gives you a lot to eat. Chikkies, chocolates, icecreams and whatnot. ‘Inspired’ by this, I joined that Hindi tuition. Along with me, I forced my apartment friend to join. I had no idea what sabha exams were. I just went there to have good coffee. Unexpectedly the teacher was pretty funny and nice to me and everyone. Her husband was the funniest. So, I loved going there. I did not realize that along with growing fun, my Hindi was also improving rapidly. The exams did not feel like exams. It was always fun. There was this competition between me and my friend about who scores more and who is the teacher’s favorite and everything. But after the fourth exam, I had to move from that area. My teacher agreed on online teaching, just for me. I was the only one in my batch. Everyone from my batch had stopped in between. I did not want to give up. Especially because, my teacher had not trained me to give up. I couldn’t give her up. I couldn’t even read at the beginning, she trained me enough to be able to talk Hindi. I’ll forever be indebted. This February I completed all eight exams. I was the first to complete in our tuition. On our last class, she said I was her best student. Even though I’m not THE best, that touched me very much. I cried a lot that day. I never expected myself to cry on completing the exams. My viva teacher told me that my Hindi was very good and that I am indebted to my teacher. I couldn’t agree more. So, if you find yourself a perfect teacher, nothings impossible. I can tell you that. Rest on the next. Tataaa…
